    1. I’m a ballet dancer also, but that’s no reason to… give up your dignity? Jesus.

    2. The moment she posted it on the Internet it became undignified. So there.

    3. She seems a little, um, curvy for a ballet dancer, seeing as how most of them make 12 year old boys look voluptuous, but still, nom.

    5. I didn’t think this was too undignified. She’s certainly has a beautiful body.

    8. @outofocus: Not because she’s naked, but because she takes pictures of herself jumping naked looking like an idiot at the beach and then posts it on the Internet for the whole world to see.

    9. @dieAntagonista: What does nudity have to do with dignity?

    10. @dieAntagonista: Nah, really gotta disagree w/ you on this one. I really don’t see it as so undignified and I’ve been accused of being very prudish.

    11. Perhaps if we could browse through her LJ posts, we can better ascertain the context of her photo…

… or if she has more, similarly nude-ish photos.

      nom.

    13. She is beautiful. There is nothing undignified about it. One of the most beautiful women I have seen is Polina Semionova. When your body looks like that, it’s just pride.

Sure is easy on the eyes.

    14. @outofocus: Why are you arguing a point I didn’t make? I never said she doesn’t look healthy beautiful or happy? And I didn’t expect anyone to agree with me either.

Obviously, what dignity means to me, isn’t what it means to anyone else, duh. I just stated my opinion. Sorry, one could be the most beautiful healthy and happy person in the world, if they post ridiculous naked pictures like that on the Internet, they’re fools. Yes, in my eyes. But I don’t understand why it’s such a big deal that I stated my opinion. There are a lot of tasteful naked pictures out there, this one just happens to strike me as idiotic.

And just because I think this picture lacks dignity, it doesn’t have anything to do with my respect for strangers. I never said she has no dignity. What an outrageous claim.

If she is a friend of yours, I apologise. It just so happens that I don’t like this particular picture for said reason, don’t try to paint me as a mean and jealous person. It’s a nonsensical ad hominem attack.

    15. @dieAntagonista: I just don’t agree with you. This woman looks healthy and beautiful AND happy. She looks like she has retained her dignity.

Perhaps you do not respect her for her choice but that’s totally unrelated to her dignity and totally related to your respect for a perfect stranger.

    16. @dieAntagonista: Look at your first comment. It was very specifically suggesting that the jumper had somehow lost her dignity by taking part in the “ridiculous” (aka fun) moment that resulted in the image. And then you come back and say “the picture lacks dignity”. Either you’re back peddling or you were unclear in the beginning.

What you said seemed extremely judgmental from what I’ve come to expect from you so of course I had to challenge it. If just about anyone else (besides you know, us kewl chicks) had made the same statement, I would have ignored it. *shrug*

I just can not see the harm in being a silly human or proof of such being on the internet so that other humans can share in that silliness. People are too touchy about nudity (which causes males to be over reactionary to it).

Needless to say, you are a tad reactionary when challenged. Might want to work on that. 😉

    17. @outofocus: Well yea, you can interpret it many ways. But i absolutely didn’t mean that she’s less of a person because of this picture. I really only judged the picture, if a picture is all I see, then a picture is all I can judge.

I understand now why you replied to me though. Dignity may just be a stronger word than I intended.
Yea it’s not so much that she’s naked, but the fact that she posted it on the Internet. You know what people do with stuff like that, it’s just something that I wouldn’t do. Most of my friends are actually people that do exactly stuff like that. But I judge these things harshly, because that’s what people in general do. You know what I mean? It’s like, not necessarily because I think it’s bad, but if that’s how people are going to view you afterwards, what does me being tolerant help.

And I admit to being conflict seeking. I can’t help it. Usually not with people I know and respect though. I just had the impression you thought I was being randomly offensive because I could. ^_^

    18. holy shit, INTERNETS ARE SERIOUS BUSINESS

also, grand jeté or grandest jeté?

      Reply

    19. @nyokki: That’s what I was thinking. And she does have a very beautiful bod.

      @dieAntagonista:
Why try to judge any thing from the picture at all? What others do with a picture is absolutely no reflection of the person in the pic. Similarly, how other people view a person has no real bearing on who a person really is.
