One of the few characters in popular literature that could be described as “full of FAIL and AWESOME”. Frazetta captures him perfectly here, IMHO.

So Flashman is some kind of calvaryman who runs around capturing ladies? (doesn’t have enough time to read up on the link)
He’s a sort of feckless soldier-of-fortune who somehow manages to fail his way upward in various adventures running through many books. I’m not sure if this painting describes a particular scene in a book or if it’s just Frazetta using any excuse to throw a great piece of T&A into an illustration gig.
Pillaging and plundering are part of being a soldier too. So can’t blame him.
T&A bby!
A HORSE THAT RUNS WITH ITS LEGS ON A 45 DEGREE ANGLE TOWARDS THE SIDE!
FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
@Dreth: …while running through a battle? Avoiding spears, swords, gunfire & explosions? Why the fuck not?
Don’t second-guess Frazetta’s visuals, man –unless you WANT to look foolish.
@Sticky: But you have time to post a pointless response? You must type faster than you can read. that’s kinda weird.
I just started reading these books recently, and by God is it awesome. Apparently George MacDonald Fraser (author) said at one point that he pictured Daniel Day-Lewis portraying ol’ Flashy. One word: Awesome.
@HoChunk:
It just reminds me of this:

Flashman is G.M. Fraser’s original anti-hero, and I’ve been his fan for over 20 years. A pirate, gambler, seducer of innocents, and coward who was knighted for heroism. He won his encounters with treachery and lechery.
Read any of his stories and learn the true definition of ROFLMAO. Srsly.
@Dreth: Yikes…I see what you mean!
@Sarcastastic: According to the wiki article, GMF’s ideal “star” would have been Errol Flynn.
@HoChunk: Details shmetails.
@Sarcastastic: Racking my brain trying to come up with a better (currently alive) casting choice than DDL…and coming up with bupkis.
I was going to say he sounds exactly like the WH40K character Caiaphas Cain, then I read that Cain is partially inspired by this dude.
@Spanny: Yea, I read the same thing…now to look more into this guy
so he’s kinda like Inspector Clouseau
