Wtf no helmet? She is not being a positive roll model for kids.
this is so 80s/early 90s, but dammit I like the nostalgia and wish I had been living in Japan during that time as compared to me living here now.
What’s the difference between then and now? The Japanese seem just as crazy, or has the radiation been wearing off?
@Snarky Parker: high5 man. Just think about all that kewl stuff they’ve got those days. Classic animations (like Cowboy Bebop, Ghiblies, etc), beautiful electronics (like sony’s beta recorders and other stuff), Masamune Shirow’s manga classics… And Akihabara was still the Electric Town… ToT
Looks to me like Roxy aka Freefall from the Gen 13 comic book from back in the 90’s
@frogurtx:
Westernization is becoming more prelavent here, so the crazy is a bit less significant. Not to say that you won’t see that couple in bear suits taking the train to Shinjiku…
So you are telling me that the Japanese of today are LESS crazy than the Japanese of yesteryear?
My Nazi neighbour’s girlfriend looks like that. Minus the huge boobs.
I too love old school manga. But the modern stuff is acceptable also, except now everyone does it. Back then it was all secret and nobody was sure what to think of it. My best friend who is Chinese taught me how to draw like that, and I remember how everyone would criticise me because well, I obviously don’t know anything about the anatomy of the human body etc. Then Pokemon became popular and all of a sudden my drawings were cool.
Weird, That looks like Boom Boom from Marvel books
I’ve finally gotten around to watching Serial Experiments: Lain. And judging from the first episode, I’ll continue watching:

Lain is one of the most mind altering things I have ever seen. Quality stuff.
It looks like Its from Black Magic M-66, early stuff from Masamune, the guy that did Appleseed and Tank Police.
Nope, I’m saying that you’ll see the crazy less often; they’re still nice and weird
Protip: that’s Freefall from Gen-13, a western comic (published by Image Comics, if I’m not mistaken).
