    1. *sigh* Because He allows free will. He gives you the choice to fuck up or not.

      • Then why punish you for not believing without proof?
Last thing I say about this subject, promise. At least in this comment section.

        • God punishes non-believers because you are given an opportunity to believe and when you choose not to then you are to be punished with an eternity in Hell, plain and simple. (Actually, the Bible says you must take Jesus Christ as your personal savior as He died for our sins to go to heaven but if you do that then you believe in God sort of by default.)

Part in believing in God is taking faith in the fact that He exists, period. Plus, the evidence that He exists is in everything in and around us.

Ok, I am prepared to be flamed. Let me have it!

          • God punishes people with eternity in hell only in the mistranslated old testament. In Hebrew, the original scripture only vaguely mentions a place of shame. And even that was never meant to be some magical dimension somewhere below the earth, it’s a metaphor for negative consequences while you are still alive. The “Ten Commandments” aren’t commandments but guidelines. They changed and mistranslated all of this on purpose.

Though let’s say for argument’s sake that what you said is true. It still doesn’t work out, because free will is an impossible concept. What makes you think that you have any control over your brain more than over any other organ in your body, like your heart? When you choose to do something, it’s your brain that makes the choice because you are your brain. What does your brain base this choice on? It bases it on a combination of everything you have experienced in your life up until to the point of the choice. Like your environment, your parents, your teachers, the books you have read, etc. Considering all of this, the word “choice” is merely a metaphor as well. There is no such thing as choice, all events of the present are the result of all events of the past combined.

So my question is, if there is a god, don’t you think he would be obligated to harmonise with the natural scientific rules on this planet? Or is he a being that creates humans just to send them either to “hell” or “heaven” based on an illogical set of rules that sounds more like something man invented, than an almighty and just god.

This is my opinion, I would like to hear what you have to say to this bryon.

          • Why bother? You haven’t said anything that actually makes your god look good or worthy of worship (Believe or so help me, myself!), and you admit that you have no evidence that your god exists (as opposed to any other creator or none at all), just that you have nice scenery.

    3. I’m a complete and unabashed Atheist, but Epicurus should have known better than to fuck up the Law of Excluded Middle like this.
