    4. In before, “why is this NSFW? I don’t see any nipples or genitals!”

      • In before “What people on this site don’t understand is that it’s not the submitters or Tiki being prude/conservative, it’s the rules in connection with the Google ads as well as the fact that Tiki has gotten into trouble before for almost NSFW content being posted as SFW. So if you like this site and you want it to continue, stop complaining about people being über careful. They are doing it because they love you.”

        • Yeah, I think we were going for the same “in before.”

But really, is it that hard to understand that what you can open on your computer screen and half the mechanics at the Jiffy-X auto service where you work as a mechanic will whistle at and walk on by is different from the kind of thing a junior analyst at Wells-Sachs financial services can open and not have half the people in his cubical row calling HR? And that it is somehow surprising that the people who buy ad space on Tiki’s site (which they have never heard of, and trust Google ads to screen for objectionable material) might just not want white collared people working at large corporations FIRED for checking the site that they the advertisers spent a lot of money to have their ad printed on, expecting that people could check that site freely and see their advertisement.

But I guess that’s not a compelling argument to someone who assumes that all this internet content should exist outside of a business model that somehow makes it profitable to the people who produce or support it. Or that it is the advertisers fault that the average corporate drone can’t check their favorite image blog and view pictures of upskirts or downbreasts or unbuttoned-blouse-in-a-garden shots that don’t specifically posses female-nipple or genital shots without getting in trouble with HR. Yeah, that is totally the advertiser’s fault, not the fact that the U.S. (I don’t care how international the site is, it is still effected by the U.S.) was formed by a bunch of retarded reformist nutjobs who wanted everyone to feel guilty about having sexual feelings, but also foisted an industrious nature which led to massive capitalism, all of which resulted in a culture which was both squeemish and fascinated with sex, who told you to be ashamed of your lust, then to buy it back for $29.99 per dvd (in the privacy of your own home, not in the workplace). Yep, that is totally the fault of the advertisers, google ads, and Tiki. Totally their fault.

            • Bored month. Grad school is on break and I have too much time and too few ways to stimulate my brain. I was particularly snarky there, wasn’t I? I just like to discuss, debate, point out flaws in reasoning and then hear back how my analysis was flawed and then come back with a counterpoint.

From my viewpoint, the people who get upset because some NSFW material doesn’t have nudity in them have a pretty weak argument. It’s called Not Safe For Work, not not safe to view on your own computer where your coworkers might see and get upset. I think it’s perfectly normal to hedge your bets on what is ok at various work sights when creating a money-raising image blog.

But I should not have been so snarky. I started with an “in before…” I shouldn’t have snapped at the counterargument “in before.” Sorry.

            • I didnt make a counter-argument, I made a follow up to yours. They go together, hand in hand.

            • You’re right, and I completely misinterpreted that and went off in a weird direction. It was late at night, but that’s still not a mistake I’m proud to take ownership of. As hard as it is to believe sometimes with some of the troll threads and the kill-it-with-fire comments whenever weird hentai or pictures of naked men or transexuals come up, McS is a pretty congenial message board (or picture blog, or whatever it technically is). Sometimes I see an internet debate where there isn’t one.
